Attributes of White-pear trees
Adodytes dimidiate is a medium size, fast growing, ever green tree with a semi-formal, upright growth form. It has striking glossy green foliage and bears flowers in abundance – often more than once per season. The tree's fruit has a fleshy appendage, changing from green to red to black as it ripens. White pear has a marginally aggressive root system. In a forest setting it may, over time, grow to a large tree. It is our experience that Apodytes dimidiate will not tolerate temperatures below -2C.

A few gardening ideas for White-pear
Apodytes dimidiata is an easy grower and it is not pest prone. When young, it may require some pruning to control shoot branches. White pear will soon grow into a nice, all-year-round shade tree - however, beware of the occasional extreme cold spell! If temperature drops to -2C it may suffer some damage. Below -4C it is likely to die back to ground level. Since White pear may grow large, it is not recommended for small gardens. Adodytes dimidiate does well in a container and responds well to pruning. Use this method when you want to plant it in a small garden.
