Mountain karee (Bergkaree) is a medium growing, small, semi-deciduous tree with a shrub-like growth form and non-aggressive roots. It has bright green, trifoliate leaves and bears inconspicuous flowers and fruit. When mature, it develops a trunk with interesting character. Searsia leptodictya is an easy, no-nonsense grower. It is an ideal screening tree.
