Real yellowwood (Also broad-leaved yellowwood) is slightly frost sensitive and not drought tolerant. It an evergreen species which bears male and female flowers on separate trees. Podocarpus latifolius has dark green, broad (for the yellowood species) lancet-shaped leaves. It has a slender, conical growth form when planted is an open area (in contrast to a forest). Its roots are only mildly aggressive. Plant Real yellowwood as a formal and neat focal point in a larger garden. The species does well in a large container. Use this method if you have a small garden.
