Euclea pseudebenus | Black ebony trees for sale
The Black ebony tree is evergreen, slow growing, drought tolerant and mildly frost sensitive. It is a medium-small, tree with simple grey-green leaves and drooping branches, vaguely resembling a willow tree. Euclea pseudebenus bears male and female flowers on separate trees. Only female trees bear fruit (black berries when ripe). Black ebony has a non-aggressive root system. It is endemic to the western semi-desert areas of Southern Africa, usually growing in dry riverbeds. Black ebony is a scarce species. Plant it in a small garden as something different and special. Euclea pseudebenus is a tree for the connoisseur.
