Cussonia sphaerocephala | Forest cabbage-tree for sale | Boskiepersol
Natal forest cabbage tree is slightly frost sensitive and quite drought tolerant. It is a semi-deciduous tree with an upright growth form. It develops an exceptionally long trunk with an almost spherical leaf crown – a natural lollipop. Cussonia sphaerocephala leaves reminds one of Cussonia spicata, but its trunk is leaner (for the same height) with smoother bark. Since its natural habitat is Natal forest areas, it is adapted to a wet and humid climate. Consequently it is quite resistant to root rot. Natal forest cabbage is a tree for the connoisseur.
